The completely overhauled 2023 VW Amarok has been teased with attractive body design and new Matrix LED headlights. Just like the latest Ford Ranger, the Amarok truck will get the same treatment, riding on the same T6 body-on-frame architecture. Considering that it rides on the same platform, we expect it to use a turbo 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
Beside more stylish exterior, the forthcoming pickup will also receive many upgrades inside as well. From information that’s available, the new Amarok is going to get a digital instrument cluster, a brand’s new SYNC 4 infotainment up to 12 inches in size, and a new Harman Kardon sound system.
2023 VW Amarok Design
The new images reveal that the 2023 VW Amarok design is heavily based on the latest-generation Ford Ranger. In addition, the Amarok borrows the same roof, mirrors, door handles, and windscreen. However, we also noticed a completely new front fascia with Matrix LED headlights.
Just like before, the Amarok will be available with single and double cab body styles, and a choice between rear and four-wheel drive. It rides on 17-inch wheelers as standard, while up to 21-inch wheels are optional. The second-generation Amarok looks way more attractive than before, and we cannot wait anymore to see the fully revealed model.
Interior Upgardes
On the inside, the 2023 VW Amarok will be more modern. This truck offers a very comfortable interior, which provides enough room for up to five passengers. From information that we got, the new Amarok is going to get a completely new digital 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a brand’s latest SYNC 4 infotainment of up to 10.1 inches in size, and a new Harman Kardon sound system.
As optional features, you can get a larger 12.0-inch screen as well as artificial leather upholstery. Like the other Volkswagen models, we expect the new Amarok to come with the IQ.Drive package that brings adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assistance, and active blind-spot assistance.
2023 VW Amarok Engine Specs
The new 2023 VW Amarok rides on the same T6 body-on-frame architecture as the Ford Ranger, so we expect it to probably share the same mechanics as well. This means it could use a turbo 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
This engine under the Ranger model comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to the standard rear-wheel-drive model. However, we expect in the coming weeks exact engine specs to be revealed.
2023 VW Amarok Release Date, Price
At the moment, we only have a teaser image and some spy shots of the 2023 VW Amarok. So, we expect the new truck to be fully unveiled towards the year. Volkswagen recently said that production of the Amarok would start in the plant in General Pacheco, Argentina.
As we said, the upcoming Amarok will sit on the same architecture as the Ford Ranger using the same mechanics as well. Unfortunately, pricing of this model is not yet available, but considering many upgrades and changes, it will definitively cost significantly more than the first generation that starts at $40,000.
