After the great success with the Ram 1500, the manufacturer recently revealed that it would refresh its lineup of heavy-duty models. The new 2022 Ram 2500 heavy-duty version should be the first model that will be redesigned.
According to Ram, the upcoming heavy-duty trucks, besides some exterior updates, will also introduce more comfortable cabins. Perhaps the most exciting news is that both Ram 2500 and 3500 will gain the same treatment as the lighter Ram 1500. That means we should expect more upscale materials and the same 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. As Ram stated earlier, we should expect the new Ram 2500 to arrive later this year, alongside bigger 3500 version.
2022 Ram 2500 Design Updates
Like its predecessor, the new 2022 Ram 2500 still offers crisp, modern lines. This model is one of the most recognized in the heavy-duty lineup of trucks. First of all, it comes with an attractive front fascia that hosts a very massive grille and narrowed directional LED headlights. Basically, the design styling will vary depending on the trim level.
The Ram 2500 comes only in the single-rear-wheel layout, while a much bigger 3500 is available with single rear wheels or dual rear wheels, also knows as a “dually.”For the best off-road performance, we highly recommended at least Ram 2500 Power Wagon. Interior Adjustments With Ram 1500
The latest 2022 Ram 2500 will share many design cues inside with the lighter Ram 1500 sibling. First of all, the new truck will be offered with many trim levels and cab styles. There is a model with a single cab, a spacious four-door Crew Cab, and the largest Mega Cab. Generally, all of them are modern, offering plenty of luxury-car-level detailing.
The highlight is definitively the new 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is borrowed from the Ram 1500. Besides, the Ram 2500 also comes standard with navigation, digital rear camera mirror, trailer reverse steering control, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As for the safety equipment, the new truck including a 360-degree camera system, cargo-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, and forward-collision mitigation.
2022 Ram 2500 Engine Specs
The new 2022 Ram offers three engines with HD models. Both 2500 and 3500 Ram models use a very proven 6.4-liter V8 that can generate 410 horsepower. This engine has a cylinder deactivation to save a bit of fuel during cruising. Moreover, it`s connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a rear-wheel-drive, while all-wheel drive is optional.
The manufacturer also offers a Cummins 6.7-liter inline-6 turbodiesel that can produce 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. However, the last engine and the strongest powers the Ram 3500. This version consists of a 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel inline-6 delivering 400 horsepower and fantastic torque of 1,000 lb-ft. Unlike all other models, this one comes with a specially developed 6-speed automatic transmission.
2022 Ram 2500 Release Date and Price
The new 2022 Ram 2500 heavy-duty pickup will be available to purchase probably at the end of this year. As we mentioned, the new model will be refreshed, and it will feature the same 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system as the lighter Ram 1500. The 2500 Tradesman (Regular Cab) price begins at $34,095 and can climb up to $48k for the 2500 Mega Cab.
