New 2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon was spied last week in extreme off-road testing. According to the first spy shots, the new truck is wearing an identical design as the 75th Anniversary Edition, which was introduced in November last year.
Besides a similar design, we should also expect the new model to come with a more upscale cabin filled with many new techs. Ram is announced that like the lighter 1500 model, all heavy-duty trucks will gain the same infotainment system. The introduction of the off-road-tuned version can be expected in the summertime, while sales might start at the end of the year.
2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Design
Built on Ram’s latest HD truck platform, the latest 2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon model is still king of off-road- heavy-duty pickups. This model features a unique front blacked grille that will separate it from other trucks in its class.
According to Ram, the upcoming truck will come with taller springs and chunky 33-inch-tall Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. Thanks to that, it gains additional ground clearance of a total of 14.2 inches. Ram stated that the new truck could drive through 30.0 inches of water. However, that’s 3.0 inches less than what Ford claims for its new F-series Super Duty model.
Interior Gains a New 12.0-Inch Infotainment System
A cabin of the 2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is modern and retro at the same time. As we mentioned, all upcoming heavy-duty trucks share plenty of design cues with lighter Ram 1500. Generally, the most exciting news is that Ram will use a massive 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, heated front/rear seats, a surround-view camera system, and a heated steering wheel.
Moreover, like the regular version, the Power Wagon features the same seating layout. This model can comfortably fit five passengers. As before, safety remains, and adaptive cruise control is standard, as well as the surround-view camera.
2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Engine Specs
The Ram 2500 Power Wagon truck will use the same powertrain as its predecessor. That means we will once more see an impressive 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that pumping out 410 horses and 429 lb-ft of torque.
Generally, this engine is one of the most potent ones, and it can also be found under the hood of the famous Dodge Durango SUV. According to Ram, the 2500 Power Wagon can run from 0-60 mph in just 8.4 seconds with this engine. On top of that, this truck has excellent towing ability, and it can tow up to 10,580 pounds. Moreover, towing capacity is considerably less compared to Ram HDs, and the Ford Super Duty Tremor.
Debut Date, Price
The new off-road-tuned truck, 2022 Ram 2500 Power Wagon, will arrive sometime this year. Many believe that it will hit markets at the end of the year. With mild upgrades compared to its predecessor, the price will probably be slightly higher.
The current truck starts at a little less than $54,000, and it can go up to $80k fully loaded. Despite many competitors, the Ram Power Wagon remains the world’s most capable off-road heavy-duty pickup.
