The upcoming 2021 Mitsubishi L200 will continue with the updates. The current model was refreshed and Mitsubishi doesn’t plan to stop there. The 2021 model will get plenty of novelties. However, don’t expect a redesign or anything significant. The new model will get minor upgrades but there will be plenty of them.
The manufacturer plans to deliver changes in terms of design but it will also focus on the performance. New L200 will surely look more attractive than before. Also, the cabin will gain some important updates and we can expect better fuel efficiency too.
Complete Redesign
Some reports suggested a new generation in 2021 and that includes a complete redesign. However, that will not happen. New 2021 Mitsubishi L200 will be a part of the current fifth generation. Interestingly, this generation is present for half a decade. On the other hand, Mitsubishi delivers visual upgrades every year. The platform will remain, just like most of the features from the outside.
L200 model will remain when it comes to the vehicle’s dimensions. This pickup is 70-inch tall and 205 inches long. The customers can still choose between a two and four-door variants. When it comes to styling, new L200 will look even better now. New sheet metal and revised front end are the highlights of the 2021 model. A new grille and modified headlights are visible at first glance. Mitsubishi opted for a sharper approach this time around. On top of that, L200 will gain more muscles and it will introduce new fenders.
2021 Mitsubishi L200 Interior
Unfortunately, new 2021 Mitsubishi L200 won’t introduce plenty of interior changes. Some parts of the cabin will get updates, however. The current model gained some important upgrades so new L200 will mostly be a carryover. Notable changes are new rear ventilation and a longer list of safety features.
The 2020 L200 now includes auto emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and blind-spot monitoring. Interior layout will largely remain. As for the design, the dashboard is exactly the same as in the current model. Even the displays are intact for the next year. However, the upcoming model will surely look stylish and it will provide great comfort.
2021 Mitsubishi L200 Engine
Under the bonnet, a new pickup truck will keep things intact. The arriving 2021 Mitsubishi L200 will continue to offer a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine. This unit is good for 180 horsepower. On the other hand, L200 will also offer a 2.5-liter turbodiesel that generates 135 horsepower.
This engine offers significantly better fuel efficiency. 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline is also available and it provides 150 HP. Mitsubishi offers both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. New pickup now offers larger brakes and more driving modes. That even includes off-road modes such as rock, sand, snow, and gravel.
Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2021 Mitsubishi L200 will most likely keep its existing price. The base model will start at $32,000.
On top of that, this model is available on some other markets and it carries the name “Triton”. Mitsubishi plans to release its new model later in 2020, probably in the fall.
