2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition release date

2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition: Specs and Changes

The forthcoming 2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition is getting further improvements. Ridgeline remains one of a few unibody pickups in the United States, and Black Edition is one of the most luxurious versions you can find. Thanks to all of that, this model is so unique and special. If you are looking for a truck to get the job done, Ridgeline Black Edition isn’t a perfect choice.

However, if you want to use it for some other purpose, then you won’t find many better options. Beside Black Edition, Honda is reportedly working on a Type-R variant as well. Still, Black Edition will remain the range-topping trim level. That means the customers should expect premium interior, very stylish appearance and great performances.

Engine Specs

Under the hood, new 2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition shouldn’t get any type of changes. We must say that the Black Edition rides on the same 3.5-liter V6 as other trim levels. Black Edition adds more luxury and improves the styling, it is not a performance-oriented version. Anyway, potent V6 is known for its durability, and it generates 280 horsepower. On top of that, the gasoline engine can produce up to 260 lb-ft of torque, which is enough for a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

While you can find pickup trucks with more power, you won’t find a pickup with better driving dynamics. The unibody platform is lighter, so the handling is better, no matter if you choose standard FWD or optional AWD setup. Honda offers the same nine-speed automatic transmission as before. Some rumors are still suggesting a hybrid powertrain for 2021. In our opinion, it is the next step for sure, but we think this won’t happen in 2021.

2021 Ridgeline Black Edition Accessories

As we already wrote, the 2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition is one of the most luxurious pickup trucks right now. As its name suggests, this model comes with the darkened exterior. Whatsoever, even the interior is blacked-out. Honda provides unique contrast stitching, combined with the red ambient lighting system. 18-inch wheels are looking incredibly stylish, and Black Edition will also offer additional safety equipment.

That includes various driver-assistance aids such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. Of course, most of the features are offered as standard, including stuff such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior provides a high level of comfort, standard leather upholstery, larger displays and new floor mats.

2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition Release Date and Price

The all-new 2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition will cost $44,000. That is 1,500 more than the price of the RTL-E trim level. Black Edition remains the range-topping trim, despite rumors about the possible arrival of Ridgeline Type-R model.

The Black Edition still offers a couple of optional features, including diamond and chrome wheels that are looking astonishing. Thanks to that, the price could jump to $50k with ease. Honda will launch its Ridgeline pickup by the end of 2020. However, everything could be rescheduled if the Coronavirus outbreak continues for the rest of the year.
