The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X is an upcoming truck that will be positioned above the recently introduced AT4 model. Like the Colorado ZR2, this model will look aggressive, and it will receive much better off-road features. The spy shots of the upcoming truck are available, but, unfortunately, its body is fully covered with camo.
However, as far as we can see, the AT4X sports new styling, including updated lighting, revised headlights and LED signatures. Like the Colorado ZR2, the AT4X will be available with the same 6.2-liter V8 petrol engine that generates 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft of torque.
2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Exterior
The upcoming 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X looks more off-road ready than the ordinary variant. This truck will come with various modifications, especially on its body. However, it still rides on the same platform as the previous GMC Sierra AT4.
It’s recognized by a massive grille, eye-catching LED headlights, and significantly better 18-inch wheels. We also noted that the AT4X would include rock protectors and all-new dampers, identical to ones on the Colorado ZR2. As you can see, the AT4X looks more off-road-oriented than the Sierra AT4 trim level.
The cabin of the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X will be no less attractive than the Colorado ZR2. In fact, everything inside made of quality materials, resulting in excellent comfort. According to GMC, the new AT4X will include a leather upholstery with a white accent and red contrast stitching.
In general, expect AT4X to offer almost the same luxury as its model on which it is based. The new Denali Ultimate variant will be reportedly a range-topping trim level, and it will include leather, a front seat that is 16-way power-adjustable and massaging. As for the infotainment, the AT4X will host a new 15-inch touchscreen and a fantastic Bose sound system.
2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Engine Details
Under the hood, the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X comes with a 6.2-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft of torque. This engine, according to GMC, will be coupled with a smooth 10-speed transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
GMC also confirm that this truck will have numerous driving modes, such as the Terrain Mode for rock crawling. The AT4X thanks to a unique chassis and enhanced suspension can pull 1,430 pounds, while the trailering capacity is around 9,000 pounds. Overall, there is no doubt the AT4X is more equipment and much better than the AT4 model.
Release Date, Price
We expect the new 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X to hit the markets in the second half of 2022. As mentioned, this truck is based on the Chevy Colorado ZR2 model, and it features many premium off-road things. From what we hear, the forthcoming model will cost around $75,000, which is above the current AT4 trim level.
It’s also worth mentioning that the GMC Canyon AT4 OVRLANDX Concept, which debuted at the Overland Expo this year, served as a preview of the forthcoming 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X.
