A 6.0-liter V8 gasoline engine is available as a standard powertrain option. It delivers 330 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, it comes with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
However, the highlight of the Sierra’s HD lineup is its potent 6.6-liter V8 Duramax. A diesel engine can generate 445 horsepower and up to 910 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to such influential figures, the 2500HD is a very competitive truck. Diesel version offers a 10-speed automatic transmission. All those figures will largely remain for 2021.
Off-Road Capable AT4 Version
All of the GMC’s pickups and trucks are offering the AT4 variant. The all-new 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD is no different. The AT4 is off-road capable model that comes with the unique exterior design. On top of that, the interior is also distinctive.
The crucial difference is surely its off-road suspension and rear locking differential. The Sierra 2500HD AT4 comes with the standard skid plates and numerous driver-assistance aids. That includes the hill descent control, the hill start assist and the traction control.

The price of the next 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD truck will start at $36,500. On the other hand, the range-topping Denali trim level costs around $62,000.
