With Ram 1500 pickup truck getting better and better, GM needs to provide further updates to its Sierra and Silverado models. The upcoming 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will for that reason gain additional changes, mostly inside the cabin. It is an instant response to Ram’s latest interior overhaul. Both Sierra and Silverado trucks will now offer more modern and more comfortable interiors.
Furthermore, Sierra 1500 will get minor visual improvements as a part of a mid-cycle update. As for the powertrain options, nothing will change. This model will continue to offer the same three engines as the current Sierra.
Exterior Refreshments
The all-new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is ready for further exterior upgrades. However, rumors about the complete redesign are not true. This pickup will get minor visual changes. The pickup truck will continue the tradition of attractive look and modern appearance. A new model should get additional modern touches, reshaped headlights, and possibly new wheels.
The grille will also suffer minor modifications, and taillights will look sharper than before. As for the vehicle’s dimensions, nothing will change and Sierra continues to ride on the same GM T1 platform. GM could introduce one or two all-new exterior paints as well.
Heavy Interior Upgrades for 2021 Sierra 1500
According to numerous reports, a new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is getting huge interior upgrades. As we already wrote, it is an instant GM’s response to the latest Ram’s upgrades on its pickup trucks. Competition is tough and you have to follow your biggest competitors. However, we are not talking about interior redesign.
Even the interior layout will largely remain. So what is new? Center stack is revamped, and General Motors will add a larger infotainment display. A new center stack should provide more space in that area. Moreover, this pickup will get more chrome accents and other modern touches. That includes better quality of upholstery and new high-tech features and driver-assistance aids.
Engines
The approaching 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is offering the same three engine options as the current model. That includes two gasoline engines and a single diesel unit. 5.3-liter V8 gasoline is standard, while the 6.2-liter V8 will be optional. The standard powertrain delivers 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The optional engine is good for 420 horses and 460 lb-ft of twists.
However, diesel output is the highlight of the Sierra 1500. It is the most potent diesel engine in its class. Whatsoever, it produces more power than the Ram’s EcoDiesel and Ford’s PowerStroke units. This engine generates 280 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. We won’t rule out the possibility of a hybrid powertrain in 2021 as well.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Price and Release Date
Normally, the price of the new model will be higher. New 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will now start at around $$34,000. The main reason is the recent interior novelties.
If that is not good enough for you, Denali trim level is available, but it will cost $60,000. Next, Sierra 1500 will be launched in the second half of 2020 as a model for 2021.
