The forthcoming 2021 Ford Ranger STX is something new in the offer. We think this is a great addition to the mid-size pickup truck. The STX is an affordable package that costs around $1,000. For this price, you will get more technology and more stylish wheels. You can have this package on the XL trim level. If the XL trim isn’t good enough for you, the STX package is a good way to improve some of the truck’s categories.
The entry-level trim is not a premium version of the Ranger pickup truck. Luckily enough, Blue Oval automaker realized the gap in price between trim levels so STX is a perfect addition. The performance will not change but STX will improve your pickup truck in various different ways.
What is the 2021 Ranger STX Package?
The upcoming 2021 Ford Ranger STX has been unveiled a few weeks ago. It can be had in with the Ranger XL trim level. If you find the XL trim too spartan or not premium enough, the STX package is an affordable way to improve your pickup truck. The Ranger XL comes with a small touchscreen, plenty of cheap plastics, and not so new steel wheels.
However, the STX package will help improve those aspects so you can have a more premium pickup for about $1,000. According to Ford, up to 75% of Ranger buyers are adding at least one of the available packages. Moreover, the customers are usually opting for technology upgrades, rather than the visual improvements.

What STX Package Has to Offer?
As we said, the 2021 Ford Ranger STX will get you a couple of premium upgrades. For a start, Ford delivers unique and more stylish 18-inch black-painted wheels. As for the interior, the STX package comes with a standard 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Thanks to that, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be in the offer.
Furthermore, you will get dual-zone climate control, additional silver accents, and a satellite radio. Compared to the regular XL trim, this is a very important upgrade. After all, this trim level offers a small touchscreen, manual air condition, and smaller 16-inch steel wheels.

STX Package Does Not Improve Performances
As we already wrote, the 2021 Ford Ranger STX won’t improve the performances of the mid-size pickup truck. That means the things under the hood will remain intact. A 2.3-liter turbo-four engine is offered as standard once again and this unit delivers 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the engine lineup is still a mystery.
The latest reports are predicting a 2.7-liter V6 engine with 325 hp as one of the options. Some other markets could get a Ranger with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel. The diesel powertrain returns 250 horses and 440 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, there is a hybrid powertrain, but this is not official yet. We can’t forget the high-performance Ranger Raptor that will also hit the dealerships.

2021 Ford Ranger STX Release Date and Price
New 2021 Ford Ranger STX will go on sale in the first quarter of 2021. The base XL trim level will cost $28,000 and the optional STX package is available for $1,000. That means the Ranger STX version costs $29,000.
