The forthcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will be one of the most anticipated models. Next year will be interesting for numerous reasons. However, the competition between Ram Rebel TRX, Chevy Silverado ZR2 and Ford F-150 Raptor is especially exciting. Ford will deliver numerous updates to its “king of trucks.” With that in mind, we can expect a lot of improvements in every category.
That includes both the exterior design and interior comfort. However, the highlight of the 2021 F-150 Raptor could be a new engine. Thanks to that, Raptor could gain more power with a slightly larger displacement. A new pickup truck will go on sale at some point in 2020.
2021 F-150 Raptor Vs. Ram Rebel TRX
New Toyota Tundra TRD Pro could be another strong competitor. However, Tundra’s engine can’t rival Raptor’s power and agility. For that reason, Ram Rebel TRX seems to be the archest rival. The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor won’t deliver as much power as the Rebel model. However, F-150 Raptor will be better in any other category.
Still, Ram’s 6.2-liter Hellcat engine is producing 707 horsepower. That is wild. Raptor won’t come close Rebel TRX variant in this category, just like the Chevy Silverado ZR2. Still, if you want more luxury and more pleasant ride, Ram shouldn’t be taken into consideration.
New Engine is a Possibility
According to the latest rumors, the new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor should feature a new engine under its hood. The most likely candidate is a 4.8-liter engine that will produce around 420 horsepower. This output is replacing the current 3.5-liter V6 that could generate 450 hp.
From that perspective, this is a downgrade for the Raptor truck. However, new reports are suggesting another, optional, and more powerful unit. Remember, everything is based on speculations at this moment, so everything is possible.
Not that much will change on the upcoming 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor. Besides the possible engine update, the new Raptor should largely remain. The only difference between the current and 2021 model could be wider bumpers and new LED headlights that should be positioned higher. 17-inch wheels are still standard, along with the all-terrain tires.
The rear part will stay intact, which means the “FORD” lettering is present once again. Of course, Ford will offer shorter and longer wheelbase versions, as always before. On the inside, Raptor will keep the current 8-inch touchscreen. On top of that, the premium B&O sound system and numerous driver-assistance features are all offered as standard.
2021 Ford F-150 Raptor Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor shouldn’t change at all. Yes, a new engine is coming, but as we mentioned, it has been a downgrade for this amazing pickup truck. Thanks to that, the new Raptor will cost $54,000, without any optional equipment.
As for the release date, a lot will depend on a newly developed engine. Reports are suggesting the beginning of 2021 as the most likely release date. Moreover, some experts are predicting the Detroit Auto Show as the most reasonable outcome.
