The upcoming 2020 Ford F-600 will be something completely new in the heavy-duty segment. This model will be redesigned and it will introduce a more powerful engine. After its debut at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, some details are much clearer.
This truck will slot between F-550 and F-650 models. Whatsoever, F-600 will feature the same cab configurations as the F-550 model. In order to stay competitive, Blue Oval will introduce a Class 6 chassis cab which will bring more capabilities than before.
2020 Ford F-600 Looks Aggressive
The new model will introduce a very attractive and more aggressive design. The 2020 Ford F-600 looks bolder and stronger than the rest of its rivals. Dimensionally, this truck is the same size as the F-550 model.
Whatsoever, this model is available only in chassis cab configuration. This commercial truck will look very robust, but some parts are very appealing. For instance, the front end looks very attractive. It comes with modern features such as LED headlights and the grille with more chrome accents.
Interior Offers Modern Features
The all-new 2020 Ford F-600 comes with a stylish cabin. The interior is equipped with modern features and safety rating is very good. Ford is working hard to improve the level of comfort on all of its vehicles. That includes the pickup trucks as well. Also, the Blue Oval will look to introduce more technologies from the inside.
For that reason, features like Ford Data Services and Ford Telematics are included. Optionally, F-600 comes with the LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that can support up to ten devices at once. Updated SYNC3 infotainment system comes with a standard 8-inch touchscreen.
The F-600 model will borrow all of the driver-assistance features from the Transit and Transit Connect models. That includes systems such as hill start assist, automatic headlights, and traction control. On the other hand, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and stability control will be optional.
Engine Specs
Latest reports are suggesting a powerful 7.3-liter V8 gasoline engine under the hood of the new 2020 Ford F-600. The Super Duty truck will produce up to 400 horses with the standard unit. And while exact engine specifications are not available, this engine will surely deliver a high level of torque.
Optionally, a 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine is available as well. This turbodiesel engine will get a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
Towing
The Super Duty truck will tow up to 22,000 pounds. This is actually great towing capacity but Ram’s Heavy Duty lineup can tow up to 35,000 pounds. As we mentioned, exact truck details are not available yet. For that reason, we still think the Ford has an ace up the sleeve. The 2020 Ford F-600 will surely deliver better-towing capacity with the optional diesel unit.
2020 Ford F-600 Price and Release Date
Exact pricing details are still not available. However, this Super Duty truck will start below the F-650 model, no doubt about it. The price will be closer to the F-550 model or slightly higher. The upcoming 2020 Ford F-600 will go on sale at the beginning of 2020.
