According to the latest news, the famous F-250 pickup truck is about to get some significant upgrades. The 2020 Ford F-250 will debut by the end of 2019 and it will arrive with a refreshing look. If you are looking for a workhorse with great capabilities and modern look, you won’t find a better option than the F-250 model. The latest spy shots emerged and some of the changes are visible.
The 2020 Ford F-250 comes with the front end redesign. Even the rear part will get some refreshments, most notable change is the all-new taillights for sure. Generally, the pickup won’t depart from the current model. That means the dimensions and shape will stay intact. Under the hood, both gasoline and diesel powertrains are available. The 2021 model will arrive with the plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
2020 Ford F-250 exterior changes
The newest spy shots are showing a test vehicle cruising down the street. It is clear the Blue Oval carmaker did provide numerous updates and changes. As we wrote, the dimensions are intact, just like the overall vehicle’s shape. Even the side profile won’t suffer any changes. On the other hand, front end comes with a new grille and LED headlights.
The rear part will also get a pair of new taillights. The approaching 2020 Ford F-250 is coming as a lighter model than the current one. The credit goes to Ford’s designers and extensive use of aluminum materials. Both locking tailgate system and tailgate step will remain the optional part of the equipment.
2020 Ford F-250 interior looks better
Unlike the exterior, the interior of the 2020 Ford F-250 comes with minor upgrades only. Moreover, even if the Blue Oval provide some further changes we wouldn’t know about it. After all, the only source of information, for now, is the spy shots. That means we don’t know too much about the interior design.
On the other hand, we know everything about the current model’s interior. It is a modern cabin with plenty of standard features and systems. Safety is great and numerous driver assistance aids are available as well. The already good-looking cabin will either remain or it will get an even better look.
2020 Ford F-250 powertrain options
There is another mystery about the forthcoming 2020 Ford F-250 and it is the powertrain. Some rumors are saying the 7.0-liter V8 could replace the current 6.2-liter V8. This is a speculation for now. Meanwhile, the current standard engine is the 6.2-liter V8 that generates 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.
The diesel engine is optional, a 6.7-liter delivers 440 horses and whooping 925 lb-ft of torque. Of course, if you need this pickup for towing and hauling heavier cargo, diesel variant is more recommendable. Thanks to that, F-250 can tow up to 13,000 pounds. Both powertrains are using Blue Oval’s new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
2020 Ford F-250 price and release date
The starting price of the 2020 Ford F-250 is somewhere around $35,000. Numerous trim levels are available, just like different cab configurations. With that in mind, the price for a fully loaded F-250 could go up to $70,000. The pickup will arrive later in 2019, around November.
