New rumors in the automotive industry are suggesting the 2020 Ford Bronco Pickup. This model will reportedly rival new Jeep Gladiator. According to those rumors, pickup version will be based on the Ford Ranger truck. Whatsoever, two models will share underpinnings.
Blue Oval will deliver a four-door pickup with removable roof panels, rugged appearance, and powerful engines. Ford clearly has big plans for Bronco. After the original launch of its SUV, Ford will deliver two-door and four-door variants. Moreover, hybrid and Raptor versions are in the works. A pickup truck is the latest plan that should treat the Jeep Gladiator.
2020 Ford Bronco Pickup Appearance Is Similar to the Ranger
Exterior will be extremely important for the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco Pickup. We expect an appearance similar to the Ranger, but more rugged. However, Ford must avoid the stories about Bronco Pickup as an alternative for the Ranger model. Whatsoever, new Bronco will only focus on rivaling the Jeep Gladiator.
On the other hand, the battle between Bronco SUV and Jeep Wrangler will play an important role. We don’t know much about the exterior design. A four-door body pickup is rumored at the moment. On top of that, Bronco Pickup will arrive with a small bed in the back. Removable roof panels are a must for Ford, along with aggressive styling and unique features.
Cabin Will Be Tech-Rich
Logically, Blue Oval will deliver the interior similar to the cabin of the Bronco SUV. Of course, pickup truck variant will arrive with fewer premium features. The upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco Pickup will surely be an upscale pickup from the inside. On the other hand, Gladiator will also get a lot of cool stuff. Knowing that Ford will surely aim for the same consumer base as the Gladiator.
That means Ford will copy some of the Gladiator’s amenities and styling cues. So far, everything is pure speculation. However, we know what Gladiator has to offer. For the start, Jeep delivers a room for five and the cabin is tech-rich. Comfort is on a high level and interior is covered in soft surfaces and high-quality materials. A 5.0-inch display is standard and Ford will surely try to beat that with the 7.0-inch unit. Lockable storage, wireless speakers and removable doors and windshield are a must as well.
2020 Ford Bronco Pickup Powertrain Rumors
Blue Oval needs to deliver an electric powertrain. Rivian and Tesla are clearly sending a message to Ford with its latest pickup trucks. Ford isn’t trying to beat Gladiator model only as the bigger picture is more important. The all-new 2020 Ford Bronco Pickup could get some sort of electrification.
Jeep Gladiator is available with a conventional 3.6-liter V6 that produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, a 2.3-liter turbo-four from Ranger truck could be standard in Bronco Pickup variant. This engine is generating 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. That is more than enough to beat the Gladiator model.
Price and Release Date
The price of the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco Pickup is easy to determine. As a Gladiator’s rival, Bronco Pickup will start in the same range, around $30,000 for the base trim level.
Release date is not available yet. Next year is very unrealistic and some rumors are suggesting for this model to arrive in a three-year time.
