The upcoming 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor is a full-size pickup truck that comes with great power and off-road abilities. Raptor includes beefy exterior design incorporated with plenty of aluminum bodywork and the comfy interior is upgraded as well. An old V8 engine is replaced with a new V6 EcoBoost.
All those changes will introduce new Raptor with 500 pounds less weight and more powerful engine. Besides that, the dual exhaust system is completely new, just like suspension and new BFGoodrich tires.
2019 Ford F-150 Raptor Exterior is raised to the next level
The 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor comes with a bulky appearance and the exterior design is raised to the next level. Of course, the design language is the same as on the standard F-150 model. That’s a good start point for Blue Oval company, however, the truck is six inches wider and bumpers are larger as a result. Up front, the headlights come with LED technology and the front black honeycomb grille comes with a huge FORD lettering.
The wheels are 17-inch wrapped in new BFGoodrich tires. Those tires are an “all-terrain” type and are designed to increase Raptor’s ability on the sand or rocky surfaces. At the back, the tailgate suffered a similar treatment as the front part, only without FORD lettering. However, this model comes with a width of 86.3 inches, this is more than six inches wider than the standard F-150 model.
Dual exhaust tips are changed and replaced with a new system and the receiver hitch is now a part of a standard equipment. Ford added three new colors, Lead Foot, Race Red and Guard, while Ruby Red and Avalanche are discounted.
2019 Ford F-150 Raptor Interior is dressed in nice carbon fiber accents
There is no big difference between the standard F-150 and the forthcoming 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor in the interior category. On the other hand, the interior is comfortable as expected, and Ford did some changes to it. The new model comes with few trims that also include King Ranch, Platinum and Limited.
Unique leather seats with suede inserts are added, and the overhead console is upgraded. That console comes with six switches where you can control stuff such as moonroof. Steering wheel suffered the same treatment as the seats with leather and suede wrappings. The front seats also have the 10-way-power, cooled and massaging control.
The paddle shifters are similar to those used in F1 and the rest of the cabin is dressed in nice carbon fiber accents. Just like the regular F-150 model, the 2019 Raptor comes with the same digital display that is placed in the gauge cluster and provides numerous information such as engine temperature or some other mechanical statistics. The overall interior is roomy, however, if you need more, a SuperCrew cab model offers a class-leading rear-seat legroom with 43.6 inches.
Plenty of safety systems are offered in this year model. Some of them will include the adaptive cruise control, rear seatbelts, blind-spot information system, rear-facing child seat, clever backup assist, 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors and many others as optional. In the crash test by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor is gain rating out of five stars.
2019 Ford F-150 Raptor Engine Specifications and Transmission
The all-new 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor comes with a new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged and intercooled V-6 with a direct fuel injection. This twin-turbo unit is capable of producing 450 HP and 434 lb-ft of torque, which is more than the previous V8 engine.
This powertrain is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive setup is available as well. However, with this engine, the 2019 Raptor hits from 0 to 60 in just 5.0 seconds.
Towing Capacity and Fuel Economy
The newest 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor thanks to the strong 3,5-liter engine and the four-wheel-drive system is able to tow up to 13,200 pounds. Furthermore, the features like Trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist and rear view trailer camera are also present. As for the EPA city/combined/highway fuel economy, this model scores 16/15/18 mpg.
