2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison First Look, Engine Specs, Release Date, and Price

The forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison has been finally rendered, and it looks really attractive. As far as we know, the new truck will be revealed sometime in the second half of the year 2022 as the 2023 model year. Aside from the more attractive design compared to the regular ZR model, the new Bison will also feature a sportier cabin.

However, the 6.2-liter small-block engine will be carried over from the Silverado ZR2 without a supercharger. So, considering that, we don’t know exactly how this model will go against rivals such as the F-150 Tremor and Ram 1500 Rebel.

The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison is more off-road-capable truck than the standard ZR2. This truck includes a very modern package that will make this model even more unique. It features upgraded bumpers, fender flares, and integrated recovery hooks at the back.

Also, it rides on standard 17-inch wheels with 31-inch tires. Unlike the original ZR2, the Bison comes with a 2.0-inch suspension lift.

Spacious and Modern Cabin

The interior of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison is more modern than the original version. However, like the regular ZR2, the Bison edition will keep the same seating layout. The cabin of this model is able to accommodate up to five passengers. Interestingly, the Bison version is only available in a crew-cab body style, so there’s expansive passenger space on the back seat. The seats are supportive and include leather-trimmed seats and sporty dark trim. Like the standard model, the manufacturer added a lick-looking dashboard that features a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel next to a massive 13.4-inch touchscreen. We also expect this model to offer a vast number of new safety features and driver assists.

Engine Rumors

Under the hood, the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison will likely use the same engine as the regular ZR2. In case you didn’t know, this pickup truck comes with an engine codenamed L87. This is a 6.2-liter V8 powertrain that is capable of delivering 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet to both axles.

Interestingly, the manufacturer will probably use a 10-speed automatic transmission made by Ford Motor Company. Right now, we don’t have exact fuel economy figures, but we assume that some mapping might improve efficiency. Just for a comparison, the Blue Oval’s truck F-150 Tremor features a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet (678 Nm), while on the other hand, the Ram uses a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that cranks out 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet (556 Nm).
