According to numerous reports, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will be an exceptional pickup truck. The current model looks outdated, as the entire generation. Now, the 2023 model seems to be the next model that will gain significant improvements.
In our opinion, Colorado looked fresh in 2013, when this pickup arrived. The last couple of models were far from exciting. The redesign will include plenty of Silverado’s features. Interior will also host plenty of updates. Under the hood, Colorado will feature both gasoline and diesel engines.

2023 Colorado Redesign
As we said, previous Colorado models looked really outdated and boring. However, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will look completely different than the current model. Chevy will opt for exterior design so expect plenty of novelties. Latest renderings are showing exactly what everyone is hoping for. The front end looks more premium, and it wears more chrome accents. The complete design is closer to the appearance of the Silverado pickup.
That includes narrow headlights that are connected to the grille. Similar styling cue can be found on new Chevy Traverse SUV. Whatsoever, refreshed Traverse model is a good indication for 2023 Colorado and its look. Lastly, Colorado will remain a mid-size pickup truck. However, Colorado will switch to the 31XX-2 platform. Chevy will offer both extended and short cab setups.

Interior Updates
Latest interior changes can be found in new Silverado and Sierra models. The same updates will be present inside the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. Moreover, Colorado could gain even more standard features. GM plans to offer a higher level of comfort. The new platform will surely help with that. However, more upscale materials are a must, and that includes the upholstery.
The infotainment system will be the new-generation system, and larger displays are certain to happen. Thanks to that, Colorado will reduce the number of physical buttons. The customers should expect a long list of standard equipment too. Finally, the higher safety rating is a must so expect more driver-assistance aids.

New Powertrain Option
Some engines will remain, but GM could also introduce new engine option as well. A standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is available once again. This engine can produce 200 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. However, optional 3.6-liter V6 is a far better option. This unit sounds like Camaro, and it provides 308 hp and 350 lb-ft of twisting power.
Lastly, there is a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel powertrain. Diesel can generate 180 horses and up to 370 lb-ft of torque. For 2023, Colorado will gain new ten-speed automatic transmission. New engine option could be a 2.7-liter turbo-four gasoline that will provide over 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of twists.
2023 Chevrolet Colorado Release Date, Price
The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will inevitably cost more than the current model. Thanks to that, a new pickup truck will start at around $25,000. The sales will begin later in 2022, according to the latest reports. Colorado will compete with other mid-size pickup trucks, and that includes Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline.
As a satisfied owner on my second Colorado, the first was an Ext Cab 4×4, V6, Z71, that was loaded we used for everything from her daily transportation, to our cruiser together, including long camping trips towing a 20’ travel trailer up to 4,000 lbs. then we both retired so we traded the Ext Cab in for a 2019, Colorado Crew Cab 4×4, V6 WT, with every option available, plus Bilstien 5100 struts and shocks set at 2” front lift/level. But now we have a bigger 27’ travel trailer at 4,500-5,600 lbs gross, with ease, with the help of a Fastway E2 Weight Distribution, not so much for sag as for help with stability and anti-sway. But always plenty of power. So I will wait to see how well the renewed Colorado turn out with the 2.7 turbo.
