The all-new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado EV could happen later next year. After the latest images became available, some things are clearer now. The teaser image of the new Silverado EV has been shown last week. More precisely, we believe this is the all-electric variant of the famous Silverado pickup truck. Whatsoever, GM confirmed an electric pickup truck, beside the arriving Hummer EV.
Most likely, the Silverado EV is happening in the near future. If this turns into reality, Chevy will offer a perfect rival for the Ford F-150 EV model. While nothing is official, here’s everything we know about the rumored Silverado EV and its possible debut.
2022 Silverado EV Looks Futuristic
The all-new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado EV was teased at the Barclays Global Automotive Conference. At this conference, GM presented its future vehicles and some of them should arrive in a five-year time. In the background, we had an opportunity to see a silhouette of the Silverado EV. This electric pickup could arrive later in 2021 and it will be a full-size model with a polygonal body configuration.
The front part of the teased truck comes with minimal sculpting, which is interesting. On the other hand, GM said in the past that its electric variants will depart from the gasoline-powered siblings. Knowing that the new Silverado EV will look closer to the GMC Hummer. No doubt, the new model will look sleeker and more futuristic.
Driving Range, Performance
From what we know, the forthcoming 2022 Chevrolet Silverado EV will share the platform with the arriving GMC Hummer truck. It is a new BT1 platform so a fully electric Silverado will also arrive with the Ultium battery setup. It is a battery pack that provides almost 400 miles on a single charge. In terms of performance, Silverado EV will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds flat.
This is just a rumor but we think it is a possibility. There will be numerous trim levels and the entry-level model will provide 250 miles of driving range. On the other hand, the top-of-the-range model will offer 400 miles. We are waiting for the manufacturer to release more details, which will happen in the next few months.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado EV Release Date
The brand-new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado EV will arrive in the near future. Some reports are suggesting the very end of 2021 as a probable launch date. On the other hand, some other rumors are predicting mid-2022 as a possible arrival date. The price is not available and it is impossible to predict how much this model gonna cost. The biggest rival of the Silverado EV is the approaching Ford F-150 EV.
