The upcoming 2021 Chevy Silverado Dually is about to arrive. If you want to maximize the truck’s towing capacity, a diesel powertrain and dual-rear-wheel setup is a must. As Ford and Ram, Chevrolet also offers a “dually” variant. This model can tow a lot of pounds and Chevy recommends a few more additional features. On the other hand, many experts are convinced that this setup lacks a couple of things.
For example, if you want this model, you’ll have to opt for the Series 3 truck, or more precisely, Silverado 3500 model. As you probably know, Chevrolet does not offer this configuration on the Silverado 2500 variant. Here’s everything you need to know about the approaching truck.
Changes
The upcoming 2021 Chevy Silverado Dually won’t significantly change. The arriving model will visually remain the same. Its design is based on the look of the Silverado 1500 light-duty pickup. Thanks to that, the truck looks very modern and stylish. On the other hand, the interior will introduce more drastic changes.
For a start, Chevrolet will provide more upscale and high-quality materials. Still, the cabin will remain as practical as before. The cabin layout is simpler and Silverado will also get larger storage bins. The new infotainment system and latest driver-assistance aids are also in the offer.

2021 Silverado Dually Diesel Specs and Towing Capacity
The all-new 2021 Chevy Silverado Dually can be had with a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine. As we said, if you want the “Dually” variant, you’ll have to buy a new Silverado 3500 model. Unfortunately, Chevrolet won’t offer this version on its Silverado 2500 truck. As for the turbodiesel powertrain, it generates 445 horsepower. More importantly, this engine is capable of producing 910 lb-ft of torque.
The level of torque is still behind Ford’s and Ram’s level, so we could expect a small improvement in this category from Chevrolet. If you load a dual-rear-wheel setup, Silverado 3500 will tow up to 35,500 pounds. Interestingly, Chevrolet’s diesel engine produces less torque. However, new 10-speed Allison transmission is available. Thanks to that, Silverado can compete with models that are offering more torque.

2021 Chevy Silverado Dually Price and Release Date
The forthcoming 2021 Chevy Silverado Dually is available with a diesel powertrain exclusively. You can’t opt for the gasoline engine at all. Thanks to that, the price will start at around $51,000. Choosing the right trim level is equally important.
If you don’t want the base trim, then you’ll have to pay even more. Getting one of the high-end trim levels will cost you almost $80,000. Chevrolet also offers recommendable optional packages such as Deluxe or Technology.

Competition
As for the competition, we already mentioned Ford and Ram. The 2021 Chevy Silverado Dually is a Series 3 truck so the biggest rivals are Ford F-350 and Ram 3500. Silverado offers less torque but it also offers a better and more modern transmission.
Thanks to that, all three models are offering similar towing capacity. Even the prices are very similar and we will see if 2021 will introduce a new truck that can rival the “big three.”
