According to the latest rumors, a new Colorado pickup could get a new powertrain option. A 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine is speculated. However, this engine will replace the current 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit. The upcoming 2021 Chevrolet Colorado z71 won’t use any of the two engines. This trim level is only available with a 3.6-liter V6 engine.
The output is rated at 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, this unit comes with a direct fuel management system and variable valve timing system. An 8-speed automatic transmission is the only gearbox option. The potent V6 is specialized for off-roading adventures. The forthcoming 2021 Chevrolet Colorado z71 will cost the same as its predecessor. This trim level slots below the range-topping ZR2 variant and it starts at $34,000. To compare, base Colorado’s trim level is priced at $22,000. On the other hand, ZR2 starts at $42,000, and it comes with more ground clearance. Chevrolet will release its new Colorado pickup in the second half of 2020.
