The same architecture underpins current Tahoe and Suburban models. Exterior will get further updates and American automaker will offer new exterior colors. From the inside, new Silverado 1500 will offer more standard features. Also, this model will be lighter than its predecessor. As before, Silverado comes with two powertrain choices.

The list of upgrades starts with the reduced vehicle’s weight. The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will be lighter than its predecessor, but not significantly lighter. However, the dimensions and the truck’s shape will stay intact. More aluminum materials should boost the fuel economy a little more. Also, Chevrolet will introduce new exterior colors. Slight styling updates should provide a more distinctive appearance.
The optional panoramic moonroof is enlarged and the pickup truck now sports more carbon fiber. Also, a CarboPro box will be optional. Even the MultiPro tailgate will be offered. The same system can be found in the current GMC Sierra model. Besides those changes and upgrades, front fascia will wear more chrome accents.
Design Changes, High Country
The interior of the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will get small updates only. This pickup already offers an SUV-like interior design and comfort is great. For that reason, there is no need for major updates at the moment. Whatsoever, Silverado 1500 comes with more standard features than the current model. Storage bins are slightly larger, and bed as well.
The good thing about this model is trim levels, eight of them, to be precise. Trim levels will largely determine the level of comfort and luxury. That means the base model offers standard stuff such as cloth upholstery and a 7.0-inch touchscreen. Upper trims like High Country and RST model are available with the leather seats and larger 8.0-inch unit. Also, the safety department will be better now.
Powertrain Details and Towing Capacity
Chevrolet will introduce zero changes under the hood of the new 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. This pickup truck offers the same two engine options as the current model. That means the 5.3-liter V8 remains standard engine choice. Powerful V8 unit is producing 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the new Silverado is able to tow 11,100 pounds.
Optionally, you can opt for the 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 420 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque. While the information is not confirmed yet, new Silverado will most likely arrive with a 3.0-liter diesel powertrain. This six-cylinder engine will surely deliver better-towing ability and better fuel economy rating. Also, the diesel unit will feature a Dynamic Fuel Management system. On the other hand, engine specs are not available yet.
Release Date and Price Of The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500
The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 will arrive around May 2019. The current model is priced at $31,000 and the new model will arrive with a slightly higher price.
The 2020 Silverado 1500 will cost around $33,000. On the other hand, there will be eight trim levels. The most expensive trims will cost almost $60,000. This pickup truck is already in the production, in Michigan and Indiana.
